Tyson Fury Vs Joey Abell

Fight preview and boxing betting recommendation

Fury will enter the ring for the first time in nearly a year after his big showdown with David Haye was cancelled twice, by Haye.

He will face Joey Abell who is limited but does possess a big punch, Abell has fallen short every time he has stepped up in class however in his last fight he came out of the blocks fast against highly rated Kubrat Pulev and actually dropped Pulev in the 4th.

Controversial maybe but I can actually see a ring rusty Tyson Fury having a few issues with Joey Abell early in this fight.

Technically Fury is underrated, he never appears to get the credit for the boxing skills he does possess, maybe the early days of a more sluggish style and the fact he managed to punch himself in the face once during a fight contributes to the wrong perception of Fury.

However Fury is vastly improved and in my opinion is a strong contender amongst the current Heavyweight crop out there, which is of a poor standard in comparison to heavyweight eras of past.

Fury should be dispatching Joey Abell here, however i think he has to come through some adversity on his way to a stoppage win.

Fury to get knocked down is 6/1 and i think it may just be worth a small play as we have seen in the past – Fury can lack focus at times and Abell is a fast starter.

However i don’t see Fury losing this fight, he is resilient and tough and if he gets knocked down i would bet on him getting back and finishing the job in hand so in that sense i would still be looking for a Fury stoppage win in this fight and in the first half on the fight.

Im going to make two plays on this fight one is a small play on Fury suffering a knockdown at 6/1 and the other a larger play on the fight ending in under 6 rounds at 5/6 (this means if the fight doesnt see the 7th round we have a winner) – Both plays are with Sky Bet

The under round play looks particularly good value considering 36/38 of Abells have not seen past the 6th round (2 were no contests that ended in the 1st rounds), statistics point to good value in this play.

Boxingtipster.coms bets – £10 on Tyson Fury to be knocked down 6/1 Sky Bet and £60 on under 6 rounds 5/ 6 sky bet.
