Terence Crawford Vs Ray Beltran – Preview, Prediction and Betting Tip

Terence Crawford Vs Ray Beltran

Preview, Prediction and Betting Tip

Terence Crawford defends his WBO lightweight world title against tough Mexican Raymundo Beltran in Nebraska this weekend. Crawford is having a break out year and another classy display and win this weekend will surely put him at the top of the mix for fighter of the year honours.

Crawford is a well schooled boxer with punching power, he has great speed and footwork and is defensively astute and it is hard to pick too many technical flaws in his game, the guy is classy.

Beltran is a hard tough Mexican who brings intelligent aggression, he is not the quickest of fighters but he is clever and pretty relentless when he wants to be, he certainly has the power to shake up Crawford if he can get there.

This is Crawford’s fight to lose, he has too many advantages, speed being the key one. Beltran is going to have to try and find his way inside and rough Crawford up, but that is easier said than done. Crawford will make Beltran pay the price of any success he has in this fight, his jab and counters will be too quick for the slower Mexican.

A big part of me wants to see Beltran win this fight after being robbed of a world title against Ricky Burns, but I think the only way he wins this fight is if he lands a fight ending punch as Crawford has his number in all other avenues.

Crawford can be a little stale early on in fights and tends to warm into them, that is when Beltran will need to capitalise and bring lots of pressure. Once Crawford finds his rhythm it will be an uphill battle for Beltran down the stretch.

I am backing Crawford on points this weekend, there is a chance he may stop Beltran but I think the tough Mexican will stay put and bring whatever he can over 12 hard rounds, Ladbrokes have Crawford by unanimous decision at evens, and i think he should win this one clear on the cards in his hometown.

Prediction: Crawford UD

Boxing Tipster’s Bet: £25 on Crawford by unanimous decision evens Ladbrokes.
