Stuart Hall Vs Vusi Malinga – 21st December 2013

Fight preview and betting recommendation

Location -First Direct Arena, Leed, UK

Vacant IBF bantamweight title

Hall was a late comer to the pro ranks at 28, instead opting for a party lifestyle of drinks and drugs in his younger years.

Introduced to boxing as a young boy he came back to the sport in his mid twenties and now finds himself in a world title fight, make no mistake this is a massive opportunity for Stuart Hall and one he may never see again.

Hall gets this fight due to the IBF stripping holder Jamie Mcdonnell for failing to meet his mandatory obligations, some of you may remember Hall dropped an extremely close decision to Mcdonnell in 2011.

I think this is a winnable fight for Hall, he is up against south african Vusi Malinga who is a decent fighter and who has fought at a higher level to Hall.

However Malinga has been inactive with only 4 fights in as many years and while he is the more experienced and perhaps slightly better technically i think its a fairly even fight.

I think Hall may have more stamina, he has a decent jab and can mix it up, being the home fighter i expect a truly gritty and determined performance, Hall has every chance of taking a close decision here.

Hall is 11/4 at BetVictor to win by decision, a good price if you ask me, however i think it may be worth straddling a Malinga KO/TKO at 7/2 as Malinga can hit a bit and given the fact this is a step for Hall.
