Scott Quigg Vs Hidenori Otake

Preview, Prediction and Betting Tip.

Scott Quigg defends his WBA World super bantamweight title against Japan’s domestic super bantamweight title holder Hidenori Otake in what looks to me like another over matched opponent for Scott Quigg.

You can see peoples frustration in why Quigg is not facing tougher opposition, since his competitive draw with slick Cuban Yoandris Salinas, he has fought no one with a notable chance of winning. In his last fight he fought a European level bantamweight in Stephane Jamoye. Previous to that he fought Tshifhiwa Munyai and Diego Oscar Silva both fighters who are not going to test the assets of a fighter like Scott Quigg, as a result all fights ended in under 3 rounds.

It might also be worth noting that Yoandris Salinas was banged out by 15-7-0 Mexican fighter Enrique Quevedo in his next fight following his draw with Quigg.

Anyway Otake looks more of the same from what we have seen in Quigg’s last 3 bouts, I mean I could be wrong and the Japanese champion surprises me but he does not look technically that great and there will be gaps for Quigg to land big shots, particularly some crunching body shots.

I see another dismantling this weekend from Quigg and I expect him to have his man out of there by the middle rounds, Sky Bet have the fight to go under 8 rounds at 6/5, and personally I would be very surprised to see it losing.

9 of Quiggs last 10 fights have all ended under 8 rounds and I fully expect us to be collecting.

Prediction: Scott Quigg TKO 5

Boxing Tipster’s Bet: £25 on under 8 rounds 6/5 Sky Bet.
