Sakio Bika Vs Anthony Dirrell

Preview, prediction and betting recommendation

This is a rematch of an encounter between the two that took place in December of last year for Bika’s WBC super middleweight title, the fight was scored a split draw with one judge giving it to Bika by 114-112, another to Dirrell by 116-110 and the 3rd judge scoring the bout 113-113.

In the first fight Dirrell seemed to be in complete control, outboxing Bika comfortably but as the fight progressed Dirrell was dragged more and more into Bika’s kind of fight which made the bout close, when in my opinion it did not need to be. Dirrell had all the tools.

There is nothing fancy about Bika, he is tough, comes forward and brings pressure with a pair off relatively heavy hitters but his resume tells you he struggles with superior boxers and can be outboxed.

Dirrell is a classy operator and with a few adjustments should be taking this fight without any controversy, but after the last fight I do have question marks over his heart and will to win.

I am backing Dirrell to win a decision here, but at 5/6 there is little value in it, Ladbrokes have Dirrell to win by unanimous decision at 7/4 it obviously carries more risk as you just need one judge to see it another way and the bets a loss.

But I think a few adjustments from Dirrell and he can win this fight comfortably, I am going for Dirrell to make it unanimous this time round with a little bit of cover on a Bika decision just incase Dirrell fades like last time.

Boxing Tipster’s Bet: £20 on Dirrell by unanimous decision 7/4 Ladbrokes, £5 on Bika by decision 4/1 Ladbrokes.
