Paulie Malignaggi Vs Zab Judah – 7th December 2013

Fight preview and betting recommendation

Location -Barclays Center, Brooklyn, USA

Vacant NABF Welterweight title

The two Brooklyn born fighters go head to head in a fight that is much more about pride than any belt, and i think we have a really exciting fight on our hands here.

Both fighters are coming off the back of a loss, however both showed heart and desire and put in good performances in the said losses.

Paulie Malignaggi ran rising star Adrien Broner to the wire losing a narrow split decision, a fight many gave him no chance in.

Zab Judah closed strong against the menacing Danny Garcia, and showed real desire and heart in that loss.

Malignaggi has a very slick technical style of boxing, his footwork is excellent, he has speed, a good defence, solid chin and is able to land accurate combinations.

Malignaggi does not have the power to stop Elite level opposition and because of that i for one feel he has been underrated for most of his career.

Judah is a quick and crafty southpaw who does carry pop at elite level, Judah is athletic and explosive however sometimes his temperament can be to his detriment and he can often lose his mind in the ring – he does not possess the cool, calm savvy demeanour that Malignaggi brings to the table.

I think we have an extremely close fight on our hands here and i can certainly see a split decision or majority decision being announced at the end of this one.

However the man i favour over 12 rounds is Paulie Malignaggi i feel Paulie has the technical tools and defensive movement to really frustrate Judah’s offense while being able to score combinations frequently, i see Malignaggi nicking rounds early and having the cool and calmness to negotiate the championship rounds and close the deal.

Its a close one this but i for one can see Malignaggi winning this by 3-4 rounds on the scorecards.

Pinnacle have Malignaggi at 6/4 which i think is a fair price, remember Pinnacle are one of only 2 bookmakers in the UK (Bet365 and Pinnacle) that void the outright markets in the event of a draw in boxing markets, which always gives a bit of piece of mind and by passes the hassle of playing the draw also.

ATR’s Bet – £40 on Paulie Malignaggi any method 6/4 at Pinnacle
