Omar Figueroa Vs Daniel Estrada
Preview, prediction and betting recommendation
Omar Figueroa defends his WBC lightweight title against tough Mexican veteran Daniel Estrada following a split decision win against Jerry Belmond a guy people expected him to beat fairly comfortably.
Figueroa looked pretty awful in his last bout and I am hearing he is having problems with his brittle hands in the lead up to this fight, this bout could have the earmarkings of an upset.
Estrada is a tough customer, while he hasn’t fought at elite level by any means he has a good solid resume littered with some solid opponents, he also carries plenty of pop. The Mexican has 26 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw, the 2 losses both by split decision.
The Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez has been supporting Estrada in his preparation for this bout which can only be a positive.
I think Figueroa has a tough fight on his hands in Estrada and I think Estrada is extremely live for the upset. The frustrating thing is Paddy Power first opened up the market with Estrada at 11/2 which was a price that really excited me. However it did not last long and they quickly pulled the price down to 7/2 and other seemed to have followed trend.
While I still believe Estrada can pull off an upset a price of 7/2 does not excite me as much but I am still going to pull the trigger.
