Mikey Garcia Vs Juan Carlos Burgos – Fight preview and betting recommendation

Mikey Garcia Vs Juan Carlos Burgos – 25th January 2013

Location –  Madison Square Garden, New York, USA

Garcia looks a formidable force at the moment, at the young age of 26 he has torn through opponents with surgical precision – amassing an impressive fight record of 33 wins 28 by stoppage, that’s an 85% knockout ratio,

However Garcia will not be the only man that can punch in a ring Saturday night, his opponent Juan Carlos Burgos can also bang and in my opinion will be the toughest opponent Garcia has faced to date.

Both men are devastating body punchers and both are skillful and intelligent fighters. Burgos uses the ring well, his head movement is good and Garcia may have problems finding him at times.

I see this as a competitive fight and Burgos is being underrated, odds as high as 13/1 on Burgos (pinnacle) seem off the mark to me.

However in saying that i do favour Garcia in this fight, if he is patient and picks his spots he should be able land the cleaner shots of the two fighters.

The punch power of the two fighters point to a stoppage at some point in the fight, however i see this one going the distance with Garcia winning by 3 or 4 rounds.

Garcia is 9/4 at Ladbrokes to win by decision, Burgos is 13/1 just to win at Pinnacle, i think those odds are good for a straddle play. The risk is Garcia gets the KO, thats a real realistic possibility given his punch power and performances to date.

My feeling is though, he will have his hand full with Burgos this Saturday night and my need to grind out a decision.

ATR’s Bet – £20 on Garcia by decision 9/4 at Ladbrokes (returns £65), along with £5 on Burgos to win any by method 13/1 at pinnacle (returns £70)
