Mickey Bey Vs John Molina – 19th July 2013

Location – Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

This is a bout due to be televised on Showtime, Most boxing fans will be familiar with Molina as a Friday night regular.

Molina is strong man for a lightweight and his punching power somewhat reflects this, he has amassed a very respectable 71% KO ratio banging out 20 of his 28 opponents, however what he accomplishes offensively he very much lacks defensively and there’s blue print out there on how to beat Molina.

Bey was a standout amateur and once a hot prospect but he hasn’t always lived up to expectation despite clearly being in possession of the tools.

Bey had been plagued by inactivity and had not fought for 15 months until he fought Robert Rodriguez a fight he won with an impressive 3rd round KO, however following that bout he tested positive for elevated testosterone levels and the contest was ruled a no contest.

Bey split from Top rank before the Rodriguez bout and is now fighting under Floyd Mayweathers promotional banner.

Bey has speed, abundance of skill technically and decent power, i believe if his hearts in it he wins this fight.

Bey is 9/2 for the KO/TKO i think that is worth a play, however i think a cover on the big punching Molina could be sensible.

ATR’s Bet – £20 on Mickey Bey by KO/TKO 9/2 Boylesports, £10 on Molina by KO/TKO 5/2 Boylesports
