Marcos Rene Maidana Vs Josesito Lopez – 8th June 2013

Preview, prediction and betting tip

This looks to be fight of the weekend for me style wise, both fighters come to fight and both are very very tough guys with decent chins and just a solid toughness about them not just physically but mentally which gives me the impression we may have ourselves a real give and take tussle on our hands.

Neither fighters have much in the way of real technical boxing about them, neither have there minds much about defence either and seem happy to take a shot to land a shot and i can see some big heavy shots landed in this fight.

Josesito Lopez has always been an underrated fighter even before he took to the big stage with a real upset win against Victor Ortiz, one in which i felt not only did he seem to break Ortiz’s jaw and cause him to retire on his stall, his courage and resilience seemed to break Ortiz’s heart somewhat.

They make them tough down in Argentina and Maidana is a prime example a real rugged and tough man who hits extremely hard, his recent move to welterweight looked a struggle against Devon Alexander until he stopped Jesus Soto Karass which was made to look even more impressive when Karass in his next bout went on to complete an utter dominate the very higly regarded Aydin.

I see these two as fairly evenly matched i just feel when the guns come out and both fighters are staring down the barrel it will be Maidana who fires the more heavy and hurtful shots and that will be the difference in this fight, however i do expect Josesito Lopez to have his moments too and i think you would be foolish to completely write him off, however im going with the guy who has 30 stoppage wins from 33, that for me is difficult to bet against.
