Lucas Browne Vs Andriy Rudenko

Preview, prediction and betting recommendation

Two unbeaten heavyweights in Lucas Browne and Andriy Rudenko go head to head looking for a win to further progress their careers, and this could be a very intriguing heavyweight battle for as long as it lasts.

Andriy Rudenko who is 24 wins with 16 knockouts hasn’t really fought anyone of note and has not fought outside of Ukraine except for a trip to Belarus in only his 2nd professional fight, so in that sense he is still an unknown quantity.

However I have managed to take a good look at Rudenko from footage online and he certainly looks like he can bang with the straight right but there are plenty of flaws, he fights with a dropped guard or with his hands by his side but his upper body and head movement are not really superior enough for him to do that, Therefore he is open to the right over the top and he certainly eats a few.

Rudenko also neglects his jab more than he should, but the positives are while his combinations are a little mercurial he does let his hands go from mid range and when he gets an opponent hurt he goes for the kill.

Browne is gaining a reputation for being a devastating puncher but he is still learning the professional trade even at 35 after only turning pro at 31 years of age, he is a patient fighter who waits for the right moment to throw his bomb so I wouldn’t be surprised if its a cagey opening from Browne as he sizes up the task in front of him.

Browne while he isn’t best known for his boxing ability, he does have some and is perhaps a little underrated in that department but without kidding ourselves there are limitations on that score.

This could be a who lands first fight, and while a favour that to be Browne simply because there will be plenty of openings for him to land the right over the top I still would not be shocked if Rudenko pulls off an upset as he has the tools to do it.

Rudenko can be had at 6/1 and I think its certainly worthy of a small play, if his chin can hold up to some of Brownes power punches then I expect him to land big shots of his own and really put Browne’s to the test.
