Lee Purdy Vs Cosme Rivera – 9th March

Lee Purdy Vs Cosme Rivera

I used to see Purdy as a slugger/puncher type fighter and a little one dimensional, against good movement and a little bit of slick he could be outboxed, this was proven when not world class but highly capable Colin Lynes was able to outbox Purdy on the backfoot to a decision.

I dont see that about Purdy anymore he seems to have found new dimensions and a new skill set, he mixes up his punches alot better, boxes his way inside with alot more intelligence and i think under Eddie Hearns promotion he could go along way.

Rivera is a tough mexican who has had a decent enough career mixing at a high enough level and considering Carson Jones late drop out they have still presented Purdy with a highly capable and legit opponent, some may argue this is just as tough a fight as Jones presented.

I see both fighters as fairly tough but both are offensive minded fighters and i see a fairly explosive mix up of styles, i think we could see a stoppage in this fight, Purdy looks to be throwing real heavy shots in his last few bouts and the mexican can bring pressue also.

I think a small straddle on the method markets may prove fruitful here Purdys 3/1 to find the stoppage whilst Rivera is 8/1, mix these to up and i think you have a fairly solid little play on your hands.
