Keith Thurman Vs Luis Collazo + Herrera Vs Lundy – Previews and Predictions.

Keith Thurman returns to his home state for the first time since 2009 as he takes on the experience veteran southpaw Luis Collazo while an intriguing bout between to very good contenders in Hank Lundy and Maurico Herrera also takes place. Here are you previews and predictions for both of these bouts.

Keith Thurman Vs Luis Collazo

Keith Thurman is a rising star in the welterweight division, the WBA world welterweight title holder has plenty of talent and skill and possesses power in both hands. Thurman is physically strong and athletic but is also an extremely intelligent and smart fight with some guile and craft.

Its no wonder why many are excited about Thurman and see him as a potential superstar, to date he has shown very little in the way of weaknesses and has beaten everyone put in front of him at a canter, while he has beaten some very good opposition he is yet to face a real elite type fighter.

However Thurman seems more than willing to face anyone, so hopefully it wont be long before we see him involved in super fight.

His opponent Luis Collazo was once a worthy champion but is most certainly past his prime now, a decade a go and this could possibly be regarded as a very competitive fight, Collazo used to hold WBA welterweight title himself a decade ago.

However while Luis Collazo has never really made it as an elite fighter he is still a talented fighter, a tricky crafty southpaw with good punch power that could present Thurman some problems if he lands early.

But for me this is Thurmans fight to lose and I fully expect him to dominate Collazo throughout this bout, Collazo is a tough man so whether Thurman can get the stoppage is still questionable but I think he will get it, but late on.

This is a difficult fight to bet as there is no real value out there for a Thurman KO/TKO win, at just 1/2. I think the best play is to go in the round grouping market and take Thurman to win in rounds 7-12 at 7/4 Ladbrokes but again it certainly doesn’t scream value, therefore I will just be betting small for interest.

BETTING TIP – £10 Thurman rounds 7-12 7/4 Ladbrokes

Hank Lundy Vs Maurico Herrera

This is a good little fight between to solid contenders, Maurico Herrera should be a world champion right now if not for boxing politics, in this writers opinion he clearly beat Danny Garcia in Puerto Rico last year for the WBA and WBC light welterweight world titles and I am sure there are plenty who agree.

Hank Lundy is a fighter who looks exceptionally talented with skills but never seems to have fulfilled his full potential in the square circle, if he can fulfil that potential and display all the talent he has threatened to do in his career he should win this fight.

This is a tough fight to pick both fighters are possible underrated but I do like Lundy in this fight, I think if he performs he is the more talented fighter and I am going to back him for the win this weekend.

Lundy is marginally underdog at 6/5, I will be backing him at Bet365 as we are covered for a refund on the draw.

BETTING TIP – £25 on Lundy to win 6/5 Bet365
