Jonathan Romero v Alejandro Lopez – 16th February

Location – Auditorio Municipal, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico

vacant IBF super bantamweight title

This is a good match up and should be an interesting world title bout, i really like Romero in this fight hes a real slick operator with classy movement.

Hes an unbeaten Columbian with great reflexes and can make his opponents miss, alot, and look superb in doing so. Some may remember when he schooled a real decent prospect in Efrain Esquivias back in September of last year and i rate Efrain as a decent fighter.

Romero does have to go in the Lopez’s back yard for this fight and its in mexico which does always concern me a little, but this is a world title bout and the judging panel are all neutrals, The big factor i see in this fight is the notable speed advantage Romero has over Lopez, Lopez isnt a real in your face fighter or big puncher so i can see Romero being able to dictate the pace of the fight.

This should be a good fight but i just see Romero as being the guy with that extra bit of glitter in this fight and i think it will show clear enough for the judges to see over the 12 round distance.

ATR’s Bet – £100 on Romero 9/10 – Pinnacle
