Humberto Soto v Silverio Ortiz – 9th February 2013

Location – Arena Itson, Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico

vacant WBC International Silver light welterweight title

Soto is a competent multiple world champion who reigned at super featherweight for a number of years and was a solid champion for a a good couple, he began moving up the weights in 2008 fighting at lightweight, then light welterweight and even fighting his last fight at welterweight.

Soto has been in alot of wars in a 70 fight career spanning 15 years and im not sure the move up in weight has suited and he has laboured recently, looking past his best.

He is up against Silverio Ortiz who has always been on the fringe, there or there abouts but never had that little bit extra, however he looks to have found a bit of momentum winning his last 6 fights and i believe his ability has risen late, along with his confidence.

Its a big ask against a solid and competent guy like Soto but i think Ortiz may be able to pull of the upset, hes currently 4/1 to do so.

ATR’s Bet – £50 on Ortiz any method 4/1 Sporting Bet

*Note there doesnt seem to many markets open for this, it may be worth holding off and placing the bet later in the hunt for a better price, if not then 4/1 is still playable in my opinion
