Hassan N’Dam Njikam Vs Curtis Stevens

Preview, Prediction and Betting Tip

A tasty mid week treat for boxing fans sees chin checker Curtis Stevens take on Hassan N’Dam Njikam in what could be a very entertaining bout.  This is a relevant fight in the middleweight division and could propel the winner into contention for a world title shot down the line.

N’Dam Njikam’s only loss came to former WBO Middleweight champion Peter Quillin, he was dropped six times but it didn’t really tell the story of the fight, N’Dam won more rounds than Quillin, he outlanded Quillin, unfortunately 3 10-7 rounds against him due to the knockdowns meant Quillin was able to win wide on the cards.

N’Dam uses the ring extremely well, he can box and move using his height and reach, he also throws in combinations adopting a fairly busy style, he is not a one punch knockout artist like his opponent Stevens is but he can certainly out them via accumulation and he should have enough power to make Stevens respect him.

N’Dam can fight long and stick to a game plan however he can be lured into exchanges on the inside and this will be Stevens best chance.

Stevens has an array of 1st round knockouts to his name and has a reputation as a ‘chin checker’ his punching power is his best asset and it has saved him in many fights, in his last bout he was down badly on the scorecards but pulled out a a stoppage win in the last round against then unbeaten Tureano Johnson.

Stevens will always have a puncher’s chance which can make him a bit of a nightmare to bet against, he cost me a 7/2 underdog winner against Johnson.

But I think this is a bad style match up for Stevens against N’Dam and he will need to pull another one punch KO out of the bag otherwise he will be convincingly outboxed and dominated in this one for me.

I am going for a wide decision win for Hassan N’Dam Njikam somewhere around 117-111. I have been looking for a method market to pop up but there doesn’t seem to be one so I will just have to take the 4/6 being offered on N’Dam outright, however I will be keeping a reasonable stake because Stevens is certainly not someone to bet your house against.
