Don George vs Caleb Truax – 21st June 2013

Convention Center Minneapolis, USA

Friday fight night regular Don George goes up against Caleb Truax in what looks like an entertaining fight, both fighters are very good “on the cusp” type fighters who will hover there amongst the contenders and world levels, however any hopes of a legitimate world title for either will probably amount to anti climax.

However both are very talented and George is a devastating puncher who has had some very good wins and has become a bit of a spoiler, upsetting the odds more than once, he possesses a 72% KO percentage and has fought the much better opposition to his opponent, he isn’t the most technical of fighters, infact he isn’t really technical at all but he still seems to move well enough and he is a real gritty and tough guy with a solid chin and knockout power.

Caleb Truax is a very well rounded fighter his biggest fight to date was against former world champion Jermaine Taylor, despite dropping the former champion in the 9th round he lost the fight clearly and for large parts it looked comfortable for the former champion, that is Truax only defeat to date however he has had plenty of soft opposition in a 23 fight career.

I think the difference in power may be the key here, i think George may be the biggest puncher Truax has faced and it will be interesting to see how Truax reacts when George lands his bombs, also George is tough his only stoppage loss came to Adonis Stevenson and it took Stevenson till the 12th round to get rid of George and George showed tremendous heart in that fight.

Boylesport have a George KO/TKO priced at 9/4 Boylesports that looks a fantastic price to me and i think a George KO is a very likely prospect and a small play is definitely warranted.
