Deontay Wilder Vs Johann Duhaupas – Preview and Prediction

Deontay Wilder will make the second defence of his WBC heavyweight title against France’s Johann Duhaupas in what can only be regarded as a complete travesty of a heavyweight world title fight.
For the first time in six years UK boxing fans will be unable to watch a WBC heavyweight world title fight live on UK television as matchmaking in boxing continues to underwhelm.
Johann Duhaupas who is very conveniently ranked number #2 with the WBC is a former French and European heavyweight champion, and while he is tough and I mean no disrespect to him, he shouldn’t be causing Wilder any issues this weekend and really has no business being in a fight for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.
Wilder is odds on favourite at 1/19 which pretty much sums up how uncompetitive the bookmakers feel this contest is, however if you think they are wrong you will be able to get a whopping 22/1 on Duhaupas.
Duhaupas has 2 losses on his record, both to decent level heavyweights in Francesco Pianeta and more recently Erkan Teper, he lost both fights by unanimous decision. Duhaupas has a good chin and is tough but isn’t really on the level of a guy like Wilder.
Wilder was underwhelming in his first defence against Eric Molina and was troubled on the way to a 9th round KO, and he will want to look good in this one, he has an opponent in Duhaupas where that should be very possible.
I am expecting another stoppage win for Wilder this weekend, and I think he can do it early and we may see a resume of the Wilder before he became heavyweight world champion, where he was dismantling everyone inside 4 rounds.
Sky Bet have the fight to go under 6 rounds at 6/5, I think its a good price and have a very good chance of happening, Wilder in 4 rounds for me.
PREDICTION: WILDER TKO4
BETTING TIP: Under 6 rounds 6/5 Sky Bet
