Denis Grachev Vs Zsolt Erdei – 30/03/13

Erdei is a former WBO Light heavyweight champion who held the title for 5 years from 2004 to 2009 defending on numerous occasions before stepping up to Cruiserweight and claiming the WBC Cruiserweight title in 2009.

Erdei has a solid amateur background and claimed a Bronze in the 2000 olympics, hes a solid fighter, with a well rounded skill set, keeps a tight defence and knows his way around the ring, however at 39 he is probably at the back end of his career.
Grachev is as tough as they come and possesses a set of real heavy hitters he ran Lucian Bute to the wire in a fight last year in which some actually felt Grachev was unlucky not to be given, theres nothing classy or fancy about Grachev he just walks forward and brings pressure and aggression, and lots of it.

Erdei may be very talented technically, however im not sure he has enough power to keep a guy like Grachev honest and i certainly don’t see him in the same room as Bute, I like Grachev’s pressure in this fight.

Erdei has never been stopped, infact he has never lost a fight before but i feel Grachev can put him in trouble here, Grachev is 9/2 to find a stoppage its a bold play given the statistics but i think its worth a shot at with a low stake.
