Darren Hamilton Vs Steve Williams – 23rd February (boxnation)

Location – Wallasey, Merseyside, United Kingdom

BBBofC British light welterweight title

This is a decent little domestic dust up and i think this will be a close fight, Hamilton is coming of the back of 2 really decent wins against John Watson and Ashley Theophane.

He was a 7/1 underdog when he beat Theophane to win the british title that he is now defending, and people must not underestimate how good Theophane actually is, this is a guy that only 3 years ago came within a whisker of beating Danny Garcia and has beaten a wide range of very decent fighters.

I believe something has switched with Hamilton and he has found himself very late in his career, is comfortable with his weight and has a new found approach to the way he trains and his focus is now 100% on his boxing.

Williams is a very capable fighter and Hamilton will need to be at his best in this one, however i like Hamilton is this fight i dont think he is just going to give up his belt easily and will give it everything.

The odds are close but Hamilton is 6/4 underdog and i think thats a decent enough price but this one should go to the wire so cover the draw as it could be close.

ATR’s Bet – £40 on Williams 6/4 and £2 at 25/1 Sky Bet
