Darleys Perez Vs Anthony Crolla II – Preview and Prediction

Manchester’s Anthony Crolla will meet Colombian Darleys Perez for the second time this year after the two fought to a controversial draw at the Manchester Arena in July, Perez’s WBA world lightweight title will be on the line again.

It was Crolla’s first fight back following a potentially career ending head injury he sustained trying to halt a burglary at his neighbours house in 2014,.

Crolla put in a dogged performance and took the fight to the champion Perez who was also deducted 2 points for low blows during the fight, by the time the final bell sounded most felt Crolla had one the fight clear, including me, however the judges had scored the contest a draw so the two fighters now meet again.

After his last performance Crolla now goes into the fight the slight favourite at 8/11 and I don’t disagree with that you would like to think if we see a similar contest to the last fight Crolla will finally get his hand raised.

Some who have followed Perez’s career will probably feel he under performed last time and maybe underestimated Crolla and won’t perform as badly as he did last time out.

However you also have to take into account that was Crolla’s first fight since recovering from a horrific injury so he may well be able to come in with an improved performance, I think this will be another close fight.

With the Manchester crowd roaring Crolla on I think he will do just about enough to get his hand raised this time in a closely fought contest, I am backing Crolla to win by decision at 5/4.

BETTING TIP – £20 on Anthony Crolla by decision 5/4 Stan James
