Daniel Jacobs Vs Jarrod Fletcher – Preview, prediction and betting recommendation

Daniel Jacobs Vs Jarrod Fletcher

Preview, prediction and betting recommendation

In 2011 Daniel Jacobs was diagnosed with a bone cancer that left him partially paralysed , Jacobs beat the cancer and a year later against doctor’s advice returned to the ring in 2012 and no finds himself fighting to become WBA world middleweight champion, it really is heart warming stuff.

Jacobs is a legit puncher with already has one failed shot at a world title, a stoppage loss to highly rated and unbeaten Dmitry Pirog it is the only loss of his career, otherwise he has 24 KO’s from 27 wins and a fight involving Jacobs hasn’t gone the distance in 5 years, a 2009 unanimous decision win over Ishe Smith.

Both fighters have good amateur backgrounds, Jacobs a 4 time national golden gloves champion and USA amateur champion while Fletcher beat Adonis Stevenson as an amateur to win the commonwealth title.

Fletcher is a moderate puncher, he has some good boxing ability but nothing really stands out for me, he was dispatched by Billy Joe Saunders inside 2 rounds in 2012.

I like Jacobs heavily in this fight I think he is a couple of notches above a guy like Fletcher and while Fletcher is not necessarily the flimsy type I expect Jacobs to dispatch him over 12 rounds.

However Jacobs by stoppage is very short 8/15 is the best price you will find, its just not quite enough for me, there is little value out there this weekend as it happens.

However I am still prepared to make a play, all of Jacobs stoppage wins bar one have come inside the first six rounds and while we have to take into account Fletcher represents higher opposition to any of those victims in question I still think if Jacobs is good to go he could out early.

I am going to make a very small play on Jacobs in rounds 1-6 at 2/1 with Paddy Power, but it really is an interest play with little value to be had out there from what I can see this weekend.

Boxing Tipster’s bet: £10 on Daniel Jacobs rounds 1-6 2/1 Paddy Power
