Anthony Crolla Vs Gamaliel Diaz

Preview, Prediction and Betting Recommendation

An in form Anthony Crolla looks to further progress against rugged Mexican and former world champion Gamaliel Diaz. This will be the Mexican’s second fight at Lightweight after moving up following losing his WBC super featherweight title last year.

The Mexican has an inconsistent record losing 11 fights in his professional career but along the way he has sprung an array of upset wins including beating Robert Guerrero, the Mexican is tough and game and Crolla will need to be on the ball and execute a game plan to ensure he does not get involved in a tear up with Diaz.

Crolla for me is one of the most improved fighters in the UK he has gone from a good domestic fighter to being on the cusp of world level, he has shown real class in recent performances.

If he sticks to a game plan, uses his jab I think he could break the Mexican down late in this fight. This has not been a easy fight to bet because I think its one that could easily go the distance.

But I slightly edge a Crolla late stoppage, that is 6/5 at various bookmakers. However I have an alternative – Paddy Power have either fighter to win by KO/TKO at evens and with little difference in price this may as well be taken.
