Adrien Broner Vs Marcos Maidana – 14th December 2013

Fight preview and betting recommendation

Location -San Antonio, Texas, USA

WBA World Welterweight title

Broner at just 24 is already a three time world champion, while his brash antics outside of the ring are not to everyones taste his skill and talent inside it, are undeniable.

An excellent counter puncher, sharp combinations, slick defense alongside power which has seen him stop over 80% of his opponents to date, Broner has nearly all the tools possible at his disposal.

Maidana has amassed a reputation as a devastating puncher with 31 stoppages in 34 wins, however losses to Khan, Alexander and Kotelnik point to fact that Maidana can struggle with technically superior opponents.

I don’t think Maidana can be facing a much more technically superior opponent than Broner and i personally think this is a bad style matchup for Maidana.

Maidana is tough but he can go down and we have seen him hurt in a few fights.

Questions still hang over whether Broner’s power carries to welterweight, he did not have Malignaggi in any serious trouble in his debut at the weight

I still think Broner may be in a situation where he is able to land at will late on in the fight, Maidana will always have a chance as a puncher but i just see him as outclassed in this fight and he will find Broner’s style tough going.

Broner is too short at 1 /5 to play and the KO/TKO market and decision market is too finely balanced to lean towards one or the other in terms of value, therefore i am inclined not to go in too big on this fight.

There is a bet i like though and that is Broner 7-12 10/3 at paddy power, £15 returns £65 and a nice £50 profit if it wins.ATR’s Bet – £15 on Adrien Broner rounds 7-12 10/3 Paddy Power >> (Bet £10 and Get £20 in FREE BETS)
